Sweet McKinley was a dream to photograph for her 1st birthday/cake smash session. She started the session wearing a cute, white knit romper and I photographed her with my pink fabric background and then switched to my beautiful floral garland with little lights. She was such a fun, smiley, cooperative little model and made my job so easy. Her Mom had wanted to incorporate a newborn picture into the session and was disappointed that she had forgot the picture at home. Knowing this was something special to the family (because we had done the same for her brothers session) - I quickly suggested that maybe we try using one of my pictures in a frame as a stand-in during the session so that maybe I would be able to photoshop McKinley's picture into the frame later. I always love an editing challenge and the resulting pictures were just what Mom had envisioned. Mom changed her into her purple, sequin tutu for the cake smash and despite the fact that McKinley had never tasted cake before - she knew just what to do. This petite, cutie dug right in and kept saying "ummmmmm" with every bite. I couldn't resist several close up shots of her beautiful eyelashes!! I must say that Mom holds the record for the most hair bow changes during a session - there were 9 in total (most were so seamless and quick that I didn't even notice until I was editing the session LOL)!! Below are some of my many favorites from this adorable session!!
